Honshus Akitas have a long reputation of excellence in the show ring and as companion dogs. Honshus Akitas have been the recipients of the Pedigree and the Canadian Kennel Club Top Breeder Awards in 1993 and 1998!

We have achieved numerous awards over the years......with many being at the Specialty Shows.  There is nothing like your first Best of Breed in Specialty Show!  We have had so many outstanding dogs in our Kennels.  We have a very small kennel with no more then 8 animals living with us and less than six animals in the breeding program at any given time.

Quality not quantity is what you will get at Honshus Akitas and this proves true for puppies as well. Here at Honshus Akitas we breed very selectively with only healthy, sound bitches being paired with exceptional studs.

Almost all of these dogs live in family homes where they are loved and adored by the owners. There is real satisfaction of being able to bring puppies into this world that are sound in mind, body, and spirit. Willing to serve, love, work, and play!!

In 1998, Honshus Akitas tried a new venture, a co-breeding with Satika Akitas . This was a tremendous success and we are now showing the outcome of this venture in the rings. We are very excited about future collaborations with this kennel.

Honshus Akitas welcomes all inquiries about their Akitas.  With the limited breeding that is done; there is usually a waiting list, but the wait is worth it.  Puppies for sale and adults occasionally.  All breeding stock is OFA'd, and thyroid tested

Honshus Akitas also offers Stud Service to pre-approved bitches. The males standing at Honshus Akitas are producing sound, typey, and titled offspring.
